ANPS voters in Castricum in 2022
NOS Nieuws•gisteren, 20:46
A total of 29 parties want to participate in the House of Representatives elections in November, it said the Electoral Council announced. That is 12 fewer than the record number that registered with the Electoral Council in 2021.
It is not yet clear whether all 29 parties will actually participate. Errors were made in 15 parties, either administratively or with the list. Those errors can still be corrected until Friday. The Electoral Council will then submit the final lists.
Newcomers
Among the 29 parties are 13 ‘newcomers’, but this also includes parties that did not obtain a seat in the Chamber in 2021.
The newcomers include parties with some name recognition, such as New Social Contract by Pieter Omtzigt and BVNL by Wybren van Haga. There are also lesser-known parties, such as the Party for Basic Income, Party of Sport and LEF For the New Generation.
The hearing on Friday, in which the lists are determined, can be followed from 5 p.m. via a livestream.
