The organization states that it is currently unknown how the cats were exposed to the virus, and the investigation is ongoing.
The World Health Organization said 29 cats have tested positive for H5N1 bird flu since Polish health authorities notified it last month of unusual cat deaths across the country. Several of them were euthanized.
The last death was reported on June 30.
Some cats developed severe symptoms including difficulty breathing, bloody diarrhea and neurological signs with rapid deterioration and in some cases death.
