Gina Frances, 28, from Australia, paints herself with period blood and describes it as “nature’s face mask”.
Australia – For many women, monthly bleeding is an uncomfortable thing. Not so for Gina Frances (28) from Australia. She even smears her own blood on her face, claiming it has healing properties.

For several years, the 28-year-old took birth control pills, but also to control and coordinate her bleeding.
But in the meantime she has stopped taking the pill and has dealt more intensively with her uterus and health.
“Our period is a powerful time to slow down and connect with ourselves,” the “Daily Star” the young woman.

She now uses her blood, which she collects with the help of menstrual cups or period panties, to paint and draw, but also to water her plants.
“Your menstrual blood is an amazing fertilizer plant. It’s a beautiful way to give back to nature what nature gave you in the first place.”
But Gina also uses the blood for herself – as a “face mask of nature”, as she says. “It’s extremely healing if you have acne or skin problems. On a more spiritual level, the practice helps connect with your period and show how clean and pure your menstrual blood is.”

Depending on the day of her period, the 28-year-old also has different procedures. On the first day, for example, she draws a dot or line on her face as a sign that menstruation is beginning. On day 2, the entire face is then creamed with blood.
But the American native also knows: “I understand that some people might be afraid or disgusted when they hear about these practices that I have mentioned.” But her work should provoke a reaction and make people question their existing beliefs.
She also advocates that women should do without tampons and pads, as these are not particularly sustainable.
