According to the social authority, 28 new corona cases were registered in Hamburg on Wednesday. That’s just as many new infections as a week ago and 10 fewer than on Tuesday.
According to the social authority, a total of 77,544 people in the Hanseatic city have tested positive for the corona virus since the beginning of the pandemic. According to estimates by the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), around 75,400 people in Hamburg can now be considered recovered.
Incidence value unchanged
The number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in the past seven days remains in the single digits: As on Tuesday, the incidence value is 9.1. A week ago it was 8.3.
Delta variant is spreading
The delta variant has so far been detected in 121 cases in Hamburg, there are 88 suspected cases. The social authority expects that the variant will spread significantly in the Hanseatic city in the short term.
18 corona patients in Hamburg intensive care units
According to the social welfare authority, 32 corona patients are treated in Hamburg’s hospitals, 18 of whom are cared for in intensive care units – one less than last stated. According to the RKI, a total of 1,597 people have died in connection with Covid 19 in the Hanseatic city since the beginning of the pandemic, so there has been no further death.
Out of a total of 172 cases in the past week, there were 5 cases in children up to 5 years of age, 9 cases in the ages of 6 to 14 year olds and 19 cases in 15 to 19 year olds. Another 57 cases are in the 20 to 29 age group, 38 in the 30 to 39 year old age group and 15 cases in the 40 to 49 year old age group. Only 5 cases this week can be assigned to the over 70-year-olds.
