Yesterday, RIVM registered 32581 positive results from corona tests. That was the second highest number ever. Last Friday, RIVM registered almost 35,000 new cases, the record number to date.
This was partly due to reports of an earlier malfunction, as a result of which not all confirmed infections were properly registered. Yesterday, RIVM counted slightly more than 28,000 new cases.

On average, 27295 infections were diagnosed last week. The week before that there were still 14854. On the same day last week there were 14561 infections, 13432 fewer than today.
Increase in hospitals
For the first time in a week, the number of corona patients in Dutch hospitals has increased. Currently 1,526 people with Covid-19 occupy a hospital bed, according to the most recent figures from the National Coordination Center for Patients Spreading (LCPS). That is an increase of 56 patients compared to yesterday.
The increase is caused by an increase in the number of corona patients in the nursing wards. A total of 1130 patients with Covid-19 are now being cared for there, 57 more than 24 hours ago. 115 new people with corona were admitted to the clinics, but because patients were also allowed to leave the wards, the occupation increased less quickly.
