“For the most cases, it is in Tasikmadu District, reaching 35 cases. Purwati hopes that the movement will get support from relevant stakeholders so that the prevention and control of DHF can be maximized.

“The aim of this movement is to provide information about the problems and strategies for preventing and controlling dengue fever in Karanganyar Regency. Then mobilize the community in PSN to prevent and control DHF. As well as increasing the number of larvae free, so as to reduce risk factors, “he explained.

Meanwhile, the Regent of Karanganyar, Juliyatmono, who was present at the launching of the PSN movement, said that the government from both the sub-district and village levels should be responsive and able to provide socialization to the community regarding the eradication of mosquito nests.

The Regent confirms the activities fogging or fumigation can not solve the problem in the prevention and control of dengue disease.

“Fogging is dangerous because what is sprayed is an insecticide which also has side effects on health. Therefore, fogging is carried out with the results of epidemiological investigations and appropriate procedures in accordance with applicable regulations. It should not be done carelessly, so that mosquitoes become resistant. The most appropriate thing is the PSN movement,” said the regent. (rud/adi/dam)
