On the occasion of this day launched live on the airwaves of Max 103, alongside host Roxane Guérin, the Suroît Hospital Foundation raised a total amount of $ 27,378.70, which is even more than during the first year of the Christmas Radiothon.
The live portion of the event, which took place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., highlighted health professionals as well as patient testimonials, while presenting Hôpital du Suroît’s vision for the future. Supported by a team of volunteers, the Suroît Hospital Foundation was able to collect donations to support the Suroît Hospital, emergency room, hemodialysis, mental health and community care.
“At L’Hôpital du Suroît, what I see is this extraordinary strength in making things happen,” said Philippe Gribeauval, CEO of the CISSS de la
Montérégie-Ouest. “Despite all the pressure, our professionals are not giving up. There is something very noble there. “
Not only was this event entirely carried out in accordance with the health measures in force, but it had practically no administrative costs, which made it possible to give the entire amount raised directly for health care.
“With this Christmas Radiothon, we remind you that the Suroît Hospital Foundation represents the population and the partners of the health network. With your donations, we have become a key player in innovation making it possible to offer health care and services adapted to the needs of the Suroît population. And for that, we would like to thank all of the auditors, donors and partners of the Suroît Hospital Foundation, ”said Michèle Cyr-Lemieux, Executive Director of the Suroît Hospital Foundation.
Several businesses in the region have also shown how much they care about the well-being of their community. This success is largely due to them, thanks to donations from Desjardins, CEZinc, General Dynamics, Groupe Tremblay and Plombco.
Many artists and public figures responded to the invitation of the
Suroît Hospital Foundation. Marina Orsini, Alex Perron and Virginie Cummins, to name a few. Even local elected officials and the Minister of Health, Christian
Dubé, showed their support during the event.
The call center volunteers continued to answer the phone until 8 p.m.
The Foundation thanks Lucie Barbeau, Marie-Laure Prunier and François Melillo, who took the calls throughout this festive day, as well as those who contributed to the preparation, namely Laurence Chiasson and Benoit Bilodeau.
This event could of course not have taken place without the generosity of the MAX 103.
