The infected also grow by 3%, the deceased by more than 1% and the incidence in people over 60 years of age by almost 70%.

All the indicators of the coronavirus have grown in different ways since last April 20, when indoor masks were put to an end: hospitalized people have increased by 27.7%, the occupancy of ICU beds has grown by 6%, infections have risen 3%, there have been 1% more deaths for this reason and the cumulative incidence of people over 60 years of age has increased by 69.3%.
This is clear from the comparison between the data offered by the Ministry of Health last Tuesday, April 19, the day before eliminating the mandatory use of the mask indoors, and the last report dated Friday, May 13.
Specifically, Health reported this Friday of 7,200 people currently hospitalized in Spain, 1,565 more than on April 19, when 5,635 hospitalized patients were reported. Meanwhile, this Friday, May 13, there were 366 people in the ICU, due to the 345 patients who were in intensive care on April 19.
The Ministry of Health has recently changed the way it deals with information about the coronavirus, also through data, so that it is currently publishing these figures on Tuesdays and Fridays. In addition, regarding the cumulative incidence at 14 and seven days, the department headed by Carolina Darias is focusing only on people over 60 years of age and no longer publishes the general cumulative incidence.

In this context, most of the autonomous communities have registered increases in people hospitalized for Covid since the end of the masks, with Castilla-La Mancha notifying the most substantial increase, 188.3% since April 19. On the contrary, six regions fell –Asturias, the Balearic Islands, the Canary Islands, Cantabria, Galicia and Melilla–.
DECEASED, CONTAGION AND INCIDENCE
In parallel, Health reported this Friday of 12.2 million infected in Spain since the pandemic began, 390,229 more than on April 19, when there were 11.7 million people infected since the pandemic began.
For its part, the department headed by Carolina Darias reported this Friday a cumulative incidence of 856.56 cases per 100,000 inhabitants for fourteen days in people over 60 years of age, 350.7 more cases than on April 19, when there was an incidence accumulated of 505.86 cases per 100,000 inhabitants at 14 days.
In the case of people who have died from coronavirus, Health reported this Friday 105,444 people who have lost their lives for this reason since the pandemic began, 1,723 more than on April 19, when there were 103,721 people who died.
