Kottayam: In a dispute over dowry in Kumaranallur, a young woman’s house was thrashed by her husband and a group of gangsters. The woman’s husband, Santhosh, a native of Tiruvalla Muthur, and his friends, broke into the house. The attack took place after a complaint was lodged with the Gandhinagar police after he called her home. Gandhinagar police registered a case against four people including Santosh.

The incident happened around 12 pm on Monday. Vijayakumari’s mother’s house was attacked at Pudukkulangara house in Kumaranallur. Vijayakumari’s daughter and Santhosh got married a year ago. 35 Pawan as dowry, but he threatened to demand more. With this, the pregnant woman returned to her home in Kumaranallur. It was only 27 days after the delivery that the husband came with a gang of gangsters and attacked the house.
