Ministry of Communications (Ministry of Transport) noted that as many as 27 airports (airports) were built during the presidency of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). In addition, in the period 2014-2024, other airport facilities were also renewed.
“In Air Transport, 27 new airports were built, so the achievement of 10 years is remarkable, perhaps the best,” said Director of Airports at the Ministry of Transport’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Lukman F Laisa , in his presentation about the performance achievements of the transport sector in the 10 years of the administration of President Jokowi, at the Office of the Ministry of Transport, Tuesday (1/10/2024).
He said the Ministry of Transport was also renovating and improving airport facilities to improve service standards and aviation safety. He said at least 64 airports were being renovated and improved.

“And 64 airports are being renovated. We have a program, we are building 5 new airports, namely General Ahmad Nasution Airport, then Fakfak Baru Airport, Singkawang Airport and Manado Airport,” he said.

The Secretary General of the Ministry of Transport Novie Riyanto said that the past 10 years have been an important period of transport transformation in Indonesia.
“We want to state that the past 10 years have been a time of great transformation for the transport sector in Indonesia, several efforts have been made to improve connectivity, mobility and accessibility in society,” Riyanto said.
In the data shown, a total of 157 land transport sector infrastructures were built including the construction of 6 type A terminals, 53 renovation of type A terminals, construction of 44 ferry ports , renovation of 54 ferry ports.
