Hakam emphasized that the number of dengue patients in Semarang City is still a serious concern amid the increasing co-19 cases. Hundreds of DHF case findings in Semarang City were recorded from January to June 2020.

Hakam said the graph of findings of 262 dengue cases this year was actually still less than in 2019. According to Hakam in January last year the Semarang City Health Office recorded 60 dengue cases. While in February 2019 there were 80 dengue cases with four people dead.

“March 88 cases with 4 cases died. April there were 80 cases with 2 cases died. In May there were 67 cases and in June there were 61 cases with 1 case died,” he said.

Hakam admitted that the Health Service had tried to reduce the number of dengue fever in Semarang through various programs. “Among other things, by providing epidemiology personnel in all Puskesmas, increasing the capacity of health surveillance officers, increasing student programs looking for larvae and one jumantik house,” said Hakam.
