A 26-year-old electrician was sentenced on Monday, in immediate appearance, to the Lyon court, to a fine of 2,400 euros, for a refusal to comply, committed on Saturday, between Bron and Lyon. He was riding a motorcycle, with his little cousin as a passenger, when the police tried to control him.
He fled for some 2 kilometers, running red lights and nearly hitting pedestrians. He was forced to stop at a dead end.
” I panicked “
“Everything happened very quickly in my head. I panicked. I deeply regret my thoughtless act, ”said the defendant, who is currently in the process of obtaining his motorcycle license.
His motorcycle was confiscated by the court and he will have to complete, at his own expense, a road safety awareness course. The prosecution, which wanted to “press strongly on the portfolio” of the respondent was followed in its requisitions.
The young man, who lives in Switzerland, has been convicted three times in France for driving without a license, carrying a weapon and refusing to comply.
“His last conviction dated back to July 2018. He had not been talked about for five years,” insisted his lawyer, Me Estermann.
