Indonesian National team will be strengthened by 26 players to face Brunei Darussalam in the first round of the 2026 World Cup Qualifications, 12 and 17 October.
Coach Shin Tae Yong added one player to the list of 25 players previously released.
The addition of players called up cannot be separated from the situation that occurred recently. Several players had to be dropped and replaced by other players due to injury.
Jordi Amat and Yance Sayuri suffered injuries while strengthening their respective clubs. Therefore, coach Shin Tae-yong replaced them by calling Fachruddin Aryanto (Madura United), Dzaky Asraf (PSM Makassar), and Hokky Caraka (PSS Sleman).
Previously, Ivar Jenner was also confirmed to be absent from the match against Brunei. Jenner was not called up because he suffered an injury while playing for Jong Utrecht.
The inclusion of the name Hokky Caraka also increases the number of players called up to 26 players. Hokky also admitted that he was grateful to be called to the Indonesian National Team.
“Alhamdulillah, I am very grateful and it has been an extraordinary experience for me. Moreover, this is the first time I have been called up to the Indonesian national team [senior],” said Hokky, quoted from the official PSSI website.
“I will fight hard and optimally so I can play against Brunei Darussalam.”
