26 people died from swine flu in Ukraine – Rambler / News

Only in the last week in the Zaporizhzhya region three deaths were recorded due to complications after the flu. In total, 26 people have died since the beginning of the epidemiological season in Ukraine. It is reported by OBOZREVATEL.-

According to the publication, on February 5, a 68-year-old resident of Zaporozhye, who developed bilateral pneumonia, died. On February 10, a 69-year-old woman and a 15-year-old girl died of flu in Zaporozhye. In January, a 6-year-old girl and a pregnant woman died of flu. All in Ukraine, the epidemic threshold is exceeded by 56%.-

“In one case, it’s pandemic influenza A (H1N1). In three cases, influenza A was confirmed, and we are still waiting for the results of the latter case, ”said Marina Kolerova, head of the epidemiological research organization.

Doctors warned that this year in Ukraine there is an outbreak of influenza A (H1N1), known as “swine”.

“It is dangerous because it causes a serious condition and outbreaks of the disease, it is very easily transmitted from person to person,” Marina Kolerova explained.

In turn, the department of respiratory and viral infections of the Institute of Epidemiology. Gromashevsky Alla Mironenko warned that children, pregnant women, people suffering from diabetes, asthma, obesity, and cardiovascular diseases are at risk.

“Such patients can instantly develop pneumonia,” Mironenko said.

Doctors also urged residents of Ukraine not to self-medicate, but to immediately seek medical help at the first symptoms of the disease.

As Rambler previously reported, a new virus was previously detected in the Chinese city of Wuhan in December 2019. According to recent data, 1,115 people worldwide became its victims, 1,113 of them in mainland China. The total number of cases in the world exceeded 45 thousand people, and almost 4.8 thousand people recovered.
