The Hamburg social authority emphasizes, however, that a higher number of cases must be assumed. “The reason for this is the rapid increase and the high number of cases, which sometimes led to later reporting of findings by the laboratories and to a partly delayed processing at the transmitting offices.”
According to the social authorities, a total of 161,544 people in the Hanseatic city have tested positive for the corona virus since the beginning of the pandemic. According to estimates by the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), 128,700 people in Hamburg can now be considered recovered.

81 corona patients in Hamburg’s intensive care units
According to the social authorities, 397 corona patients are being treated in the Hamburg hospitals on Tuesday, 31 more than last reported. According to the DIVI intensive care register, there are 81 corona patients in intensive care units in the Hanseatic city, five fewer than the day before.
RKI: Hospitalization rate at 5.07
According to the RKI, the hospital figures for Hamburg result in a hospitalization rate of 5.07. The rate, which results from the number of hospitalized Covid-19 cases per 100,000 inhabitants transmitted to the RKI within a seven-day period, is the basis for political corona measures. If limit values 3, 6 and 9 are exceeded, the federal states can impose stricter measures to combat the pandemic. The stricter measures possible when limit value 3 is exceeded already apply in Hamburg.
Two more deaths
According to the RKI, a total of 2,034 people in the Hanseatic city have died in connection with a Covid 19 disease since the beginning of the pandemic. Two more deaths were registered within one day.
