Since yesterday, 255 new positive tests have been reported in our province, reports the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM). Two Drents with a corona infection have also been admitted to hospital, and a new death has been reported.

Yesterday, 292 new corona infections were added in Drenthe. In recent days the figures were slightly higher due to a delay in the GGD computer system that was being caught up. It is not known how much higher the figures in Drenthe were as a result.
Coevorden
The residents of Drenthe who have been hospitalized come from the municipalities of Hoogeveen and Noordenveld. The resident of our province who has passed away comes from the municipality of Coevorden.
Most new infections were registered in Emmen last day (77). This is followed by the municipalities of Hoogeveen (35) and Coevorden (30). The fewest new positive cases in the past 24 hours came from the municipality of Aa en Hunze (4).
Hospital figures
According to the Acute Care Network North Netherlands, 34 corona patients have been admitted to hospitals in Drenthe, 12 of whom are in intensive care. That number is lower than the AZNN announced last time. Then 39 covid-19 patients were reported in the province.
The network does state with the figures that they are ‘dynamic numbers’. The data is drawn up on the basis of a reference moment. Hospital occupancy sometimes changes hourly.

More than 12,000 new infections
12,028 new confirmed corona infections have been reported to the RIVM. That is 795 less than yesterday. In recent days the figures were slightly higher due to a delay in the GGD computer system that was being caught up.
264 new corona patients were admitted to the nursing wards of Dutch hospitals, 43 new admissions more than yesterday. 52 new patients were admitted to the ICs. That’s 14 new IC withdrawals more than yesterday.
In total, there are now 2,034 people with corona in hospital, 549 of whom are on the ic. Yesterday there were 2,003 corona patients in hospitals in the Netherlands.
