25,005 Bulgarians who died of covid – as many as the population of a medium-sized town





New 2826 infected, 112 651 active cases. The number of people in hospitals and intensive care units is increasing

2826 people have been infected with COVID in the last 24 hours. These are 1908 fewer cases than the previous day, as is usual for Saturday. 46,388 tests were performed in the past 24 hours. The percentage of positives is 6.1%.

86.38% of those infected during the day were not vaccinated.

65 people died during the day, 98.46% of whom were not vaccinated.

The total number of dead is 25,005 since the beginning of the pandemic. This is the population of an average Bulgarian city. Approximately as many people live in Sandanski or Petrich. The population of cities like Svishtov and Sevlievo is smaller.

The hospitalized are 8370, which is 108 more than the previous day.

The number of people in intensive care has also increased, which means that the pressure on the health care system is increasing. 732 are already in intensive care units compared to 724.

359 patients were admitted to hospitals in the last 24 hours alone. 89.42% of them have not been vaccinated.
