The Regional Directorate of Health (DRS) in Fes-Meknes announced on Wednesday the mobilization of some 2,500 health professionals in the Fes-Meknes region, as part of the vaccination campaign against the new Coronavirus (Covid-19) .
These human resources include doctors, nurses, administrative managers, technicians and assistants, to ensure vaccination, recording and data management operations, as well as monitoring and evaluation to ensure the proper progress of this operation, said the DRS in a statement.
In accordance with the High Royal Guidelines, the authorities in charge of the supervision of the vaccination operation began in a coordinated and organized manner the preparations for this large-scale operation, through the creation of a steering committee, chaired by the Wali of the region, and the organization of vaccination centers, fixed and mobile, the same source adds.
To this end, the DRS announced the establishment of vaccination centers, as ancillary units to urban and rural health centers, which provide their services in fixed and mobile modes. According to the latter, medical teams travel to hospitals, factories, administrations, university halls, prisons and remote areas to administer the vaccine.
The vaccination planned in two stages, i.e. two separate doses of 21 days, will primarily target front-line agents, in particular health personnel, public authorities, security services and personnel in the national education sector. . Then, it will affect the other categories of citizens according to their age.
In order to ensure the management of this national campaign, a computer system has been adopted to allow prior registration and appointment setting, knowing that registration is automatic for holders of the National Identity Card or the residence permit.
At the territorial level, the ministry’s strategy provides for the establishment of a joint technical commission where the ministries of the interior and health are represented, which commission meets periodically to prepare the operation and verify its operational aspects. .
The national vaccination campaign is a real response to the pandemic with the objective of achieving a coverage rate of at least 80pc, necessary to ensure collective immunity and progress towards a return to normal life.
