With the participation of 250 contestants from various cities in the central region of the Emirate of Sharjah, the qualifiers for the 16th edition of the Al Dhaid Ramadan Quran Competition were launched at Al Dhaid Cultural and Sports Club.
Participants compete in 6 categories: one part for citizens, two, three, five, ten, and twenty parts open to all. This year, a category for people with disabilities was added.
3 committees formed by a decision from the Central Region Branch of the Sharjah Foundation for the Holy Qur’an and the Sunnah of the Prophet began to absorb and evaluate the large number of participants.
Salem Muhammad bin Howiden Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Dhaid Club, confirmed that this competition is held annually and valuable prizes are allocated for it, with the aim of encouraging children to memorize the Book of God in light of the annual turnout for the competition, praising the efforts of the Sharjah Foundation for the Holy Quran, represented by the Central Region Office. for her continued cooperation.
Hamid Abdullah Balsadria Al Khatri, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, explained that Al Dhaid Club works annually to expand the competition; So this year, he added the category of people with disabilities to instill joy in them, revealing that the closing ceremony for this year will be during the holy month of Ramadan.
