In line with the projects for the “door-to-door” garbage collection in Casar de Cáceres and the historic center of the capital of Cáceres, Juan Serna recalls the first experience of selective collection in Extremadura, 25 years ago in La Coronada (Badajoz).
“The issue of waste management is one of the many that must be tackled with forced marches if we want organic fertilization to replace as much “chemical waste” as is incorporated into the food we eat every day, which registers an alarming percentage of persistent toxicity,” he reflects.
Juan Serna adds that “with imagination, without bureaucracy and without large capital investments, we could make domestic waste an important source for food fertilization, something in which we are 25 years behind schedule”
