The Upper Austrian police accused a 25-year-old man of 24 break-ins into cellar compartments in the Steyr-Land district. The Kosovar citizen is said to have stolen mountain bikes and e-bikes worth tens of thousands of euros. He then sold the bicycles on at flea markets in Linz. The man was arrested on October 30, as the Upper Austria police reported on Saturday evening.
Between July and October, the 25-year-old is said to have stolen the bicycles from cellar compartments in Wartberg an der Krems, Leonding, Rohr im Ennstal, Sierning and Bad Hall. During the break-ins, it also caused property damage of several hundred euros. Several agencies investigated against the accused for burglary. At the end of October, police officers from Bad Hall arrested him on the orders of the Steyr public prosecutor.
The man is now sitting in Garsten Prison. At first he refused to testify, but then after his lawyer had inspected the files, he confessed in full.
