24-year-old woman jailed for 15 months in Tongleju child abuse case

The 24-year-old defendant, Li Huiwen, declared unemployed (former childcare worker), was charged with 9 counts of “abuse or neglect of children or minors in her custody”. The prosecution alleges that from November 19 to December 20, 2021, at the Hong Kong Society for the Protection of Children on Portland Street, Mong Kok, he was over 16 and raped five 1-year-old children, namely boys G , K, and R, AK and girl AA, a 2-year-old boy J and 3 unknown children aged 3 years and younger, the person in charge of their care, care or care intentionally assaulted, abused or neglected them . The defendant has a high school diploma in early childhood education and worked as a kindergarten teacher for approximately one and a half years. She has been employed at Tongleju since December 28, 2020. The defendant previously defended himself, explaining that he touched the children with his hands, but only to signal them to stop some dangerous behavior.
