24 times we already know about the iPhone 12 (yes: almost everything)

The iPhone event is rapidly approaching. But without Apple having announced anything officially, we already know a lot about the new iPhones. In this article we spoil it and put the innovations of the iPhone 12 (Pro) in a row.

iPhone 12 innovations

Every year we already know a lot about the new top devices from Apple before the iPhone keynote. That’s because various Apple insiders are passed on all kinds of reliable information. This is already known about the iPhone 12:

1. Apple unveils four iPhone 12 models. There are two basic versions and two more advanced Pro models:
   • iPhone 12 mini (5,4-inch)
   • iPhone 12 (6,1-inch)
   • iPhone 12 Pro (6,1-inch)
   • iPhone 12 Pro Max (6,7-inch)
2. The devices are likely to be unveiled during an iPhone event on Tuesday, October 13.
3. The two cheaper iPhone 12 models are expected to be on sale from Friday, October 16. A week later they are in the shops and are delivered.
4. The more expensive iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max are possible not vanaf november for sale.
5. For the first time since the iPhone X from 2017, the design has changed a lot. The sides are flat, making the iPhone 12 look like the iPad Pro. You can see what that looks like in this concept.
6. One of the four new iPhones is the iPhone 12 mini. The 5.4-inch iPhone will be the smallest iPhone that Apple will soon offer (and is therefore smaller than the iPhone SE).
7. The screen of the iPhone 12 (just like its predecessor) has a size of 6.1 inches.
8. Apple announces the largest iPhone ever with the iPhone 12 Pro Max. The device has a 6.7-inch display. Now the iPhone 11 Pro Max (6.5-inch) is the largest.
9. The successor to the 5.8-inch iPhone 11 Pro is also growing a bit. The display of the iPhone 12 Pro measures 6.1-inches.
10. The notch (the notch at the top of the screen) becomes a fraction smaller with the iPhone 12 mini. With the other models, it remains the same size as with the iPhone 11.
11. The iPhone 12 will be the first iPhone with 5G. All four models receive 5G support.
12. It just looks not looking forward to it that the fastest 5G version is coming to the Netherlands: mmWave.
13. The iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max will likely cost the same as the 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max.
14. The basic model – the iPhone 12 – will be more expensive than the iPhone 11. The iPhone 12 mini seems to cost a hundred euros less. You can read more about this in our article about the iPhone 12 prices.
15. The iPhone 12 and 12 mini have a dual camera lens.
16. The Pro models are again equipped with a triple camera. What the device also gets is an additional depth sensor.
17. Early rumors spoke of the introduction of a 120Hz screen with the iPhone 12 Pro (Max), but due to production problems, this innovation seems not to come.
18. All versions of the iPhone 12 have an OLED screen – so also the cheaper models.
19. The iPhone 12 series will continue to use the Lightning port.
20. The telephones are delivered for the first time without a charger in the box. You also no longer get the EarPods for free.
21. One of the Pro models is available in the color Navy Blue, or dark blue. This would replace the green color.
22. All four iPhones have the A14 Bionic processor.
23. Get the Pro models more RAM.
24. The Pro models are said to be able to shoot slow motion videos in a super sharp resolution: 4K recordings at 240 frames per second.
