Customs Service Special Support Measures… Same day payment principle when exporting companies apply for customs refund
During the Lunar New Year holiday period, special customs clearance operations will be conducted 24 hours a day for ancestral rituals and supplies.
For agricultural, zootechnical and marine products, whose consumption increases during the Christmas holidays, import prices are communicated on a weekly basis.
On the 6th, the Korean Customs Service announced special support measures for the Lunar New Year holiday.
First, for three weeks from 9 to 27, 34 customs offices nationwide will operate a special support team for 24-hour customs clearance, including holidays and nights.
During this time, outside business hours, you may request related business processing such as import and export customs clearance and port entry and departure.
In preparation for the introduction of overseas-purchased items for holiday gifts, emergency response teams are organized and managed at the Incheon and Pyeongtaek customs offices.
For exporting companies, we actively support extending the shipping period.
Shipments of export goods must, in principle, be made within 30 days of acceptance of the report, but if a company requests an extension, it will be processed immediately to minimize the imposition of penalties.
From the 13th to the 26th, a special support for tariff refunds for exporting companies will also be implemented.
In principle, if an exporting company requests a customs refund, the refund will be paid on the same day, but for cases filed after 4pm.
Requests to submit documents for reimbursement review are also kept to a minimum, and even if documents are required, the reimbursement is paid first and the review is conducted after the holiday.
The Korean Customs Service also decided to disclose the import prices of 79 major agricultural and livestock products, such as octopuses, peppers, garlic, chestnuts, beef ribs and chili powder, which are rising for the Lunar New Year, three times over three weeks.
The intention is to avoid excessive price increases and to support the stabilization of shopping cart prices.
