(Xports News Reporter Kim Hyun-ki) The Korea Handball Federation announced on the 15th that it will hold the ’24-25 Handball H League Men’s and Women’s Rookie Draft’ event at the Olympic Park Handball Stadium on the 23rd prior to the ‘Shinhan SOL Pay 24-25 Handball H League’.
The men’s team, for the second time this year, will be held from 10 a.m. on the 23rd with a total of 28 players expected to graduate from college (including graduates), and the women’s game will be held at 3 p.m. with a total of 29 players expected to graduate from high school and college (including graduates). It is scheduled to open from o’clock.
Leaders and club officials from 5 men’s teams (excluding managing directors) and 8 women’s teams will participate in the draft to select future leading players for each team.
In particular, this year, for the first time in handball, the ‘Draft Combine‘ event will be held at the auxiliary stadium of the handball stadium from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the 22nd, the day before the draft.
The Korea Handball Federation prepared to provide a final showcase opportunity for players participating in the draft through the combine and to provide clubs with an opportunity for objective observation through final inspection and testing of player skills.
The combine event consists of physical tests and practice games in six categories, including body measurements, movement tests, power, speed, agility, and visual reaction tests.
Meanwhile, in the men’s draft held for the first time last year, 15 out of 20 applicants (75%) were selected by the club, and in the women’s draft, 20 out of 22 applicants (91%) were selected by the club. Of the 45 applicants, 35 of both men and women were nominated, recording a nomination rate of 83.3%.
The Korea Handball Federation plans to provide league guidance and basic knowledge training to selected new players at the SK Academy in Yongin from the 29th to the 30th.
