237 South Jakarta residents have been infected with dengue fever since January 2022

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – A total of 237 cases of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DBD) occurs at the age of toddlers to adults in the South Jakarta area.

Head of the South Jakarta Health Sub-department (Kasudin) M Helmi said the number of cases was recorded from January to February 21, 2022.

“The highest was in January 2022, there were 184 cases. For February there were 53 cases (DHF),” said M Helmi when confirmed, Thursday (25/2/2022).

The Health Sub-Department has handled the findings of dengue cases that have spread for two months in the South Jakarta area.

One of them is by asking PKK cadres and larva monitoring interpreters (jumantik) to carry out larvae in every resident’s house.

In addition, smoking or fogging or spraying is carried out periodically to residents’ homes after reports of dengue cases are reported.

“Before it was done fogging The puskesmas team did research first to make sure other residents in the vicinity were positive for dengue fever,” said Helmi.

To note, residents who were exposed to dengue fever in 2022 recorded almost half of the cases that occurred in 2021.

It was recorded that 600 residents aged toddlers to adults were exposed to DHF during January-December 2021.

“As of December, the total number of dengue fever is 600 (DHF cases),” Helmi said on December 17, 2021.

However, Helmi at that time claimed that the number of dengue cases in 2021 was still lower than the previous year. In 2020, there were 1,016 cases of dengue fever in South Jakarta.

“Throughout 2020, DHF cases in South Jakarta reached 1,016 cases out of a total of all regions. Alhamdulillah, DHF cases in 2021 have decreased significantly from 2020,” said Helmi.
