23-year-old patient becomes the youngest Covid-19 victim to die in Singapore

Singapore: Singapore reported an additional 15 people died from COVID-19. One of them is 23 years old who is the youngest Covid-19 victim to die in Singapore.

On Thursday, October 14, 2021, Singapore reported 2,932 new cases of COVID-19. With 15 reported deaths, the total fatalities covid-19 in the country to 207 cases.

“From today’s death toll, eight men and seven women, including 23 years old who have been vaccinated with one dose, and 34 years who have not been vaccinated,” said the Ministry of Health (MOH). Channel News Asia, Friday, October 15, 2021.

“Both have multiple co-morbidities,” continued MOH.

Meanwhile, the other 13 patients who died were aged 60-89 years. Of these, eight were not vaccinated, and five were vaccinated at the full dose.

Of the new cases reported on Thursday, 2,929 were infections from local transmission. “The details are 2,412 transmissions in the community, and 517 in migrant worker dormitories,” explained MOH.

MOH added that there were three imported cases. Thus, the overall total of COVID-19 infections in Singapore since the start of the pandemic is 138,327 cases.
