The police have arrested a 23-year-old man from Epe on suspicion of involvement in the accident in the Gelderland town in which a fourteen-year-old girl died. The man’s car was found and seized.
The police were looking for the owner of a light-colored Volkswagen Polo on Sunday. She may have been involved in the collision of the fourteen-year-old girl in Epe on the night from Saturday to Sunday. The driver had driven away.
The police are not yet sure whether the car was involved in the collision. “According to witnesses, the car came from the direction of Heerde and drove in the direction of Epe.”
The accident happened at a crossing where Hoofdstraat turns into Heerderweg. The girl was hit by the car on the Heerdeweg. She cycled there with a boy. Emergency services tried to save the girl, but in vain.
