23 people including Hanyang University Hospital doctors and nurses infected with coronavirus

At Hanyang University Hospital, a senior general hospital, 23 people, including doctors and nurses, were confirmed to have a new coronavirus infection (Corona 19).

According to the Central Defense Countermeasure Headquarters (Bang Dae-bon) and the Seoul Metropolitan Government on the 29th, at least 23 people, including one doctor and one nurse, were infected with Corona 19 in the hospitalization ward of Hanyang University Hospital in Seongdong-gu, Seoul. The hospital closed the ward on the 15th floor where the group infection occurred, and started full examinations on medical staff and patients. The quarantine authorities are conducting specific epidemiological investigations, assuming that the family of the inpatient was the first infected person.

On the 17th, infections related to homeless facilities in Seoul, where the first confirmed cases were found, also increased to 36. The quarantine authorities announced that they would conduct a thorough inspection on users and employees of the facility, while conducting regular pre-emptive inspections on homeless people and residents of the room. At a nursing home in Gwonseon-gu, Suwon-si, Gyeonggi-do, 26 people were group infected, and the number of confirmed cases of group infection at Gamcheon Port in Busan increased to 27.

The city of Daejeon accused the missionary of IM Mission and the representative of IEM International School, where the group infection occurred, for violating the Infectious Disease Prevention Act. This is the reason for violating the quarantine rules, such as having face-to-face worship during periods where only non-face-to-face worship is allowed. The cumulative number of confirmed cases related to educational facilities under IM Mission is 355. As of 0 o’clock on the 29th, 469 new cases of Corona 19 in Korea were counted. The average daily confirmed cases for a week increased from the previous week’s 300 to 421. The government announced on the 31st whether to extend social distancing and the ban on private gatherings of more than 5 people. Sohn Young-rae, head of the Social Strategy Division, Central Accident Control Headquarters, explained, “It is necessary to determine whether the current trend of the increase in confirmed cases is temporary or whether the decline has turned to an increase.”
