After the interview, the Personnel Committee of the Ministry of Public Transport decides the subject of recommendation, recommends it to the President, and makes the final appointment by the President. Airborne prosecutors cannot exceed one-half of the number of prosecutors. Airborne Minister Kim Jin-wook said at the National Assembly personnel hearing on the 19th that he will not be dispatched to an incumbent prosecutor. The term of office at the prosecutor is three years, and can be served three times.

The opposition pointed out that the prosecutors from the airborne office will be filled with the former attorneys’ association (Minbyun) for a democratic society with strong pro-passport propensity. Regarding this, Director Kim emphasized, “We will select talented people with a sense of mission, abilities, and qualities regardless of their background through a transparent procedure involving external members.”
