Two weeks before SV Calberlah starts again in the national soccer league at SC Göttingen, the team of coach Stefan Timpe, who will leave the club in the summer, scored a 2 in the first test of the year on the artificial turf pitch in Wenden: 3 defeat at district league club TSV Hillerse, the ex-club of his successor Mohamed Melaouah.

Despite the defeat, Timpe was satisfied with the first appearance of the new year: “It was a great kick and was a lot of fun. A successful test, the result is secondary.” Above all, the offensive performance was positive: ” That was very good going forward, in particular. We definitely had seven clear chances to score and we were alone in front of the goalkeeper four times. So we were able to create a lot.”

But the shoe still pinches a little behind. “Unfortunately, we invited our opponents to chances and made individual mistakes before we conceded. Three goals conceded are just too many, so it’s obvious what we still have to work on. We’re still lacking defensive stability.” Calberlah’s coach isn’t worried though: “We still have a little time before the start, and we’ll also be testing twice before then.” On Sunday we continue with a test against district league club VfL Wahrenholz (2 p.m.) before the dress rehearsal against Oberliga club Lupo/Martini Wolfsburg on Tuesday (February 15).
Hiller’s coach André Brömel was also impressed by the test kick. “It was a balanced game in which both sides could have scored more. A draw would have been okay, but the bottom line is that our victory is not undeserved.” TSV also tested the day before at state league club TSV Germania Lamme (1-1), so Brömel spoke of a “completely successful weekend” for him and his team and sums up: “I am very satisfied, we have already implemented many things well. Of course, the fact that we won the game against Calberlah is also good for the atmosphere.”
Hiller’s additions Tim Laffert and Dominik Dünow were also used against Calberlah. Brömel: “I’m really happy with both of them and I’m sure they’ll be very important for us in the second half of the season.”
