The ÖVP had sent top representatives – Governor Hermann Schützenhöfer appeared as a regular guest for many years, with him Minister of Labor and Family Affairs and party friend Christine Aschbacher, for whom it was the first redoubt as Minister. In a green robe with subtly attached peacock feathers, opera director Nora Schmid welcomed the guests to the staircase. At her side was ball organizer Bernd Pürcher, who also wore a peacock feather on his tuxedo. One of the most beautiful ladies in Austria had appeared with Larissa Robitschko – in a glittering cream-colored robe with the red, white and red “Miss Austria 2019” sash.

Sonja Klima, head of the Vienna Riding School, visited the opera route for the first time – in Styria it often has to do, after all, the Piber stud is the “nursery” of the Lipizzaner horses and is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year.

On Saturday, two Graz Ball institutions celebrated – the Marienstüberl Ball of the social institution of the same name, operated by Caritas, and the Volkshaus redoubt of the KPÖ. At the Marienstüberl-Ball there was a shaken level of Graz city and state politicians, from ÖVP to SPÖ to Greens and KPÖ. Opera ball organizer Maria Großbauer also came to the Marienstüberlball in Keplerstrasse, invited and accompanied by ÖVP city councilor Kurt Hohensinner, after which she went to the opera route after moving.
