The health department reported 223 new corona cases in Bremen on Christmas Day. Another person died after being infected with the virus. The total number of corona deaths in the state of Bremen rises to 580. The city of Bremerhaven did not deliver any numbers about new infections on the holiday, the authority said.

The seven-day incidence in the city of Bremen is rising again. After being over 300 for three days in a row last week, the number fell to 285.6 on Christmas Eve. On Saturday, the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants climbed back to 294.4 within seven days.

The hospitalization incidences are not transmitted on the public holidays and are only submitted on Monday. In the city of Bremen, the value has been above threshold value 6 for the past three days. If it is above threshold value for a total of five days, the city changes from warning level 2 to warning level 3. This is done by a notice from the Senate. Warning level 3 already applies in Bremerhaven.

Nationwide incidence is falling

The nationwide seven-day incidence of new corona infections has fallen again. According to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) on Saturday morning, the value was 242.9. The day before it was still at 265.8, a week ago at 321.8. As the RKI further announced, citing data from the health authorities, 22,214 new infections were recorded within 24 hours.
