2,208 Israelis donated blood to save Méron survivors

The Israeli public has responded for those injured in the Meron tragedy.

So yesterday 2208 civilians arrived at MDA Blood Drives, Magen David Adom, the Red Cross equivalent, and donated blood units.

In light of the tragedy at the Lag Baomer celebration in Meron, which left 45 people dead alongside more than 150 injured, Magen David Adom organized blood drives across the country yesterday (Friday), in order to help the injured. L

The general public flocked to the various stations of the MDA, and at the end of the special donation day, 2,208 vital blood units were donated.
Among the donors – Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Magen David Adom would like to thank the public for their prompt response, for their spirit of solidarity which made it possible in just a few hours to collect so many units of blood intended to save the lives of the wounded and other patients hospitalized in hospitals in across the country.
Among the many donors who came was also the Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, who showed up in the afternoon at the Magen David Adom donation booth at Shaare Zedek Hospital in Jerusalem.

Each unit of blood can help save the lives of three sick or injured people who need blood. The blood unit is only valid for 35 days and therefore MDA Blood Transfusion Services is asking the public to continue to come and donate blood over the next few weeks.
