Currently, the assortment of sellers on e-platforms – “Pigu.lt” in Lithuania, Kaup24.ee in Estonia and 220.lv in Latvia – totals about 1 million products. Last year, the figure was about 250,000 goods, but in 2019 – only 4,000. In September this year, Marketplace traders sold almost 121,000 goods, in October 2020 – 26,000 goods, and in October 2019 – only 117 goods.
Sales in the Marketplace are expected to reach more than 3.1 million euros in September this year. In October last year, sales amounted to 800,000 euros, while in October 2019 they were only 3.7 thousand euros.
According to Zilén, the Marketplace was opened during the pandemic, so with the entry into force of various pandemic restrictions, it became a solution for many companies that were no longer able to continue selling in physical stores. “Today, we see that vendors who have joined our e-platforms have not only increased sales in Latvia, but many of them have expanded their business in other countries. The pandemic has been a catalyst for the already fast-growing e-commerce industry and its two Over the years, we have achieved such significant growth in sales, solutions and processes as we had planned to achieve in five years, “informs the head of” Marketplace “.
According to Žilėna, looking back, a lot has been done in the past, but the company does not intend to stop – the e-commerce platform is constantly being improved. Recently, 220.lv informed about the developed IT plug-in for retailers, which allows you to quickly and automatically move the entire assortment of goods from their e-shops to the “Marketplace”.
Also, more and more sellers are using the new “Pigu Group” service automated service “Fulfillment”, which provides more convenient storage, packaging and faster delivery. In turn, it is soon planned to offer a financing solution to sellers who face a lack of working capital.
220.lv actively works not only with sellers in the Baltic States, but also in Poland and Finland, who, joining the Marketplace, will be able to add to their assortment with their new products. In turn, Baltic sellers will have opportunities to reach Finland market. The significant expansion of the Pigu Group under the new name PHH Group was made possible by the merger with the strong player of the Finnish e-commerce market Hobby Hall Group.
