Qualifications for Euro U19 are getting closer. Before that, the U18s will meet in Limoges on Sunday to take part in the 14th edition of the Limoges Tournament. For this first outing of the season, the coach and responsible for young men’s selections, Lionel Rouxel, has called twenty-two players from the 2004 generation. Note, as in previous lists, two players born in 2005 will also be in the game. : El Chadaille Bitshiabu (PSG) and Mathys Tel (Stade Rennais).
The Limoges Tournament from September 1 to 5
The program promises to be copious for the young French tricolors since they will face Switzerland (Wednesday September 1, 7:00 p.m.), then Portugal (Friday September 3, 7:00 p.m.) and finally Spain (Sunday September 5, 3:30 p.m.). The Habs are defending champions of this competition, which they have won eight times out of the 13 editions that have been contested. If the Tournament had been canceled in 2020, due to Covid-19, it is indeed back this year. The French will try to keep their last title acquired in 2019.
