“22 Help-Seekers Safely Return to Hong Kong with Coordination from Security Bureau Task Force”

According to the Security Bureau, one more job-seeker from a Southeast Asian country returned safely to Hong Kong, and a total of 22 help-seekers returned to Hong Kong under the coordination of the Security Bureau’s task force.

The bureau said that after the Hong Kong resident sought help from the Immigration Department’s “Assisting Hong Kong Residents Abroad”, he went to the Office of the Special Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the Chinese Embassy in the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, the relevant public security units in Yunnan Province, and Hong Kong and Macau affairs. With the assistance of the Office, the task force of the Security Bureau and the Economic and Trade Office of the Special Administrative Region Government in Guangdong, he returned to Hong Kong safely from Myanmar via the Mainland today.

The Security Bureau appeals to the relevant Hong Kong residents or their family members to contact the Immigration Department as soon as possible, by calling the 24-hour helpline (852) 1868 of the Immigration Department’s “Assistance to Hong Kong Residents Unit” of the Immigration Department; Call the 1868 hotline, send a message to the 1868 WhatsApp helpline, or submit an online help form for help.
