A total of 22 unmarried couples were caught by the Surabaya City Satpol PP during a large-scale raid on Valentine’s Day at a number of hotels in Surabaya, Tuesday (14/2/2023). One of them is still a student.
Eddy Christijanto, Head of the Surabaya City Satpol PP, said the 22 couples who were netted were found alone in a hotel room. Allegedly, dozens of unmarried couples committed immoral acts.
Eddy detailed that eight couples were netted in the Krembangan subdistrict, six couples in Sawahan and three couples in the Genteng area. Meanwhile, five other couples were raided in the West Surabaya area.
“Their alibi is not doing anything, they are just doing business,” said Eddy when met at his office, Tuesday (14/2/20233) evening.
Next, the netted pair will be recorded. Couples who are still teenagers will be called guardian. In addition, Satpol PP will also coordinate with the Education Office to provide guidance.
“We approach the school in a good way, so we don’t get expelled from school,” said Eddy.
Meanwhile, for adult couples, they are asked to make a statement whose contents are no longer doing the same thing.
“After signing the statement, we will return it (return),” he said.
It is known that the Surabaya City Satpol PP conducted raids on a number of hotels in order to prevent negative actions on Valentine’s Day. Satpol PP combed a number of hotels in the eastern, western and central Surabaya areas. (lta/dfn/ipg)
