Jaqueline Marleni Pérez, a young 21-year-old mother, was arrested yesterday after her hours-old baby was found alone in the hallway of a residential building in Yonkers (NY).
The young woman was accused of abandonment of a minor, considered a serious crime, limited ABC News. She was taken to a hospital for evaluation and then discharged.
The newborn baby was found crying in the hallway of a building on Chestnut Street around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. A good Samaritan wrapped her in a blanket and notified 911. The baby was taken to a local hospital for further evaluation, but she was said to be stable.

After reviewing hours of surveillance footage and interviewing witnesses, investigators were able to identify the mother. of the girl and find her.
