A 21-year-old man died yesterday after being shot several times on a street in East New York, Brooklyn.
Police responded to a 911 call about shots fired around 12:48 p.m. Thursday and arrived to find the man with several gunshot wounds to the torso.

“There were two shots. He was lying on the ground without moving. The police started pumping his heart,” he told Daily News Antonio Sánchez, 54, who works in a nearby warehouse.
EMS took the victim to Brookdale Hospital, but were unable to save him. His name has not been revealed.

Gun violence is a constant in New York. In general young people are protagonists as victims and perpetrators on streets, homes, schools, public transportation and businesses.
On Friday, a 19-year-old man was killed in a shooting at a party on Long Island. On the eve, A 19-year-old teenager was shot to death in the chest in Queens (NYC). Two days before, another young man of the same age died outside his house in Brooklyn (NYC), allegedly shot due to a case of mistaken identity.
