The vans have so far been exported to 62 countries, including Turkey, announced the Kurdistan solidarity campaign “Rise Up 4 Rojava” in a broadcast. The rally with around 40 participants had not been registered and was therefore dissolved, according to the police.
A blockade was broken, the people in the lock-ons were transported to the sidewalk. The press no longer had access and received an advertisement, which was then withdrawn. #riseup4rojava pic.twitter.com/dRzjTAOxdU

Climbed onto the roof and raised banners
According to the police, there were a total of 21 arrests, including eleven men and ten women. They were provisionally arrested and taken to a police detention center. They refused to go and reveal their identity, a spokesman said on Monday evening. An activist was charged with assault, allegedly having slightly injured an employee while closing the factory gate.
Other activists who allegedly tried to break into the building by force were charged with trespassing. In addition, some climbed onto the roof of the property and hoisted banners, it said. Others chained themselves to concrete barrels to block the driveway.
Special unit WEGA in action
The action started at around 6:30 a.m., after around four hours it was officially disbanded. According to the police, the activists were “not ready to talk” and “not very insightful”. The special unit WEGA supported the police with technical equipment.
Allegations rejected
Rheinmetall rejected “false claims such as alleged deliveries of RMMV vehicles to Turkey”, referring to allegations of illegal exports. “There is no circumvention of Austrian law. Such allegations are absurd and completely absurd. Of course, the RMMVÖ adheres to the strict legal framework that is also specified in Austria with regard to exports, ”said a statement from the company. The access blockade was “not acceptable”.
Criticism of “Profits with War”
“In Vienna-Liesing, vehicles are no longer allowed to be produced that cost people their lives, support criminal regimes such as that of Recep Tayyip Erdogan, destroy the ecological livelihoods of the affected population and fuel the climate crisis”, demanded the initiative. The action is not directed against the approximately 1,200 employees of the company. “Our action is directed against the bosses of RMMV who make profits with war on the backs of the workforce,” said the activists.
