The 20th international chamber orchestra “Kremerata Baltica” festival will be held in Dzintari concert hall from September 15 to 17.
The focus of the festival is on the “Kremerata Baltica” orchestra and its long-time collaborators, associates, composers and soloists who grew out of the orchestra. In three concerts, the world-famous Danish recorder virtuoso Mikala Petri will perform alongside violinist Gidon Krämer and chamber orchestra musicians (Michala Petri), passionate interpreter of contemporary music, extraordinary violinist Hugo Tičati (Hugo Ticciati), the new Lithuanian conducting star Adoms Morkūns-Budris (Adams Morkūnas-Budrys) and pianist Georgy Osokin. The Violin Concerto of Krista Auznieks and the Danish composer Paul Ruder (Poul Ruders) recorder concerto premieres.
Violinist and soloist of the festival Hugo Tičati said that his cooperation with “Kremerata Baltica” started a couple of years ago, when the opus of Artur Maskat was premiered at the festival. On the other hand, the violinist met Krista Auznieks at a concert in which he played Pēter Vaska’s Concerto. Auzniec’s works have appealed to him a lot, Tičati also emphasized that it is a great responsibility to play a piece for the first time, because it is the very first thing that introduces the audience to the new musical material.
The violinist revealed that he often invites musicians from “Kremerata Baltica” to concerts in his chamber orchestra.

The festival will feature music that is traditionally associated with “Kremerata Baltica”, and also surprises, for example, the group “Nirvana” with the music of Philip Glass. Ticati noted that he is very interested in such a combination of musical directions, which may seem impossible to some. Every concert will also feature works by Ukrainian composers as a tribute.
