The double date of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers came to a close with matchday 8. Argentina remains at the top of the standings despite losing to Colombia in Barranquilla. Peru remains in last place after losing to Ecuador. Bolivia and Paraguay achieved great triumphs and dream of a place in the next World Cup. Chile is second to last and Brazil is the most irregular.

The Peruvian team arrived with great enthusiasm for the match against Ecuador after showing a great level against Colombia last week. As things stand, the ‘albirroja’ has surpassed Bolivia in the standings due to a better goal difference. Meanwhile, the ‘canarinha’ remains irregular, despite its stars, in the middle of the fight and in danger of falling in the next round if it does not win.
