BRATISLAVA. The Slovak representatives already know their opponents at the 2025 Under-20 Ice Hockey World Championship. The championship will return from Europe to overseas, hosted by Canada.
The matches will be played in two stadiums in Ottawa. The championship will be welcomed by the Canadian Tire Centre, which is the home stand of the NHL club Ottawa Senators and has a capacity of 18,655 spectators. The second arena is the TD Place Arena with a capacity of 6,500 spectators.
The composition of the groups was decided by the order in the ranking of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) after the recently concluded junior championship.
The Slovaks took the final 6th place at the tournament in Canada, and therefore their opponents in Group B will be the teams that finished in 2nd, 3rd and 7th place.
So it is Sweden, the Czech Republic and Switzerland, which will be supplemented by a newcomer from Kazakhstan. The Kazakhs succeeded in the 1-A division, in which they lost only two points and had a score of 21:12.
