Great Place To Work recently presented the best domestic companies for GenZ (LEADERSNET reported) and found in a study that well-educated women are still underrepresented in management positions (LEADERSNET reported). The companies on the list of the “2024 Woman 10 Best Workplaces for Women” in Austria, which was presented on the occasion of International Women’s Day, are intended to show that things can be different. On average, 52.5 percent of managers at these companies are female.
This is how the best companies were determined
This ranking includes companies that are characterized by outstanding workplace cultures and are said to be particularly attractive to women. The Best Employers were identified using the For All methodology to assess and certify thousands of organizations worldwide. In Austria, the “Best Workplaces for Women 2024” list is based on around 500,000 questions and answers from employee surveys (see info box for details).

As part of the launch, some of the successful companies shared their thoughts on being named Best Workplace for Women.

Great Place To Work identifies the Best Employers using the For All methodology to assess and certify thousands of organizations worldwide. In Austria, the “Best Workplaces for Women 2024” list is based on around 500,000 questions and answers from employee surveys.
The survey allows all employees (of any gender) to provide confidential, quantitative and qualitative feedback about their organization’s workplace culture by rating 60 statements on a five-point scale and answering two open-ended questions. These statements describe a great workplace culture characterized by a high level of trust, respect, credibility, fairness, pride and team spirit.
In its evaluations, Great Place To Work also considers differences between demographic groups and roles within each organization to assess both the quality and consistency of workplace culture.
The results of the employee survey enable a comparison and classification of which organizations create the most consistently positive experiences for female employees in everyday work. Different company sizes are also included in the evaluations to ensure a fair comparison of all participating companies.
