However, sometimes there is a need to change it with a more modern one, bearing in mind that there are also interesting ones incentives for those who decide to purchase it.
Today we are talking about the used car bonus, a support that can reach up to 2,000 euros and involves the audience of citizens who want to give back their used cars for buy a new car or rent it long term.
Incentives for scrapping used cars they are aimed at natural persons and are designed to purchase new M1 category vehicles, at least in Euro 6 class, with a value that does not exceed 25 thousand euros (excluding VAT) and who have not previously benefited from other incentives.

To access this measure there is an essential requirement, namely scrap a vehicle that has been owned for at least 1 year and in a class not exceeding Euro 5. The provision also includes resources that encourage long-term rental, if this solution is preferred to a new purchase.
When will the 2024 car bonus come into force and what means does it include
We would like to point out that this bonus has not yet come into force, however it is a very important provision, inserted in a context of measures to move towards a green vision in which emissions are reduced, in this case thanks to better vehicles.
The new eco-incentive program will start in March and will be different based on the types of cars. In fact, electric ones will be able to benefit from 240 million euros, while 150 million euros are reserved for plug-in hybrid ones.
However, the highest allocation will be for full hybrid not mild hybridwith over 400 million euros.
But let’s focus on the most important aspect: scrapping. This is supported up to the Euro 5 class, which until now was not part of it. The holder of the 2024 used car bonus can be the owner or a member of the family unit.
The maximum amount that can be reached is 2,000 euros and concerns the scrapping of a vehicle up to Euro 4 class, in favor of a modern Euro 6.
Italians’ pockets and also the environment benefit from it, this is the aim of the Italian government, which among other things has also included 35 million in the incentive for mopeds, quadricycles e motorcyclesboth electric and non-electric.
