Bola.net – U-23 Indonesian National Team succeeded in creating new history. Garuda Nusantara succeeded in ensuring that it qualified for the 2024 U-23 Asian Cup Finals.
The Garuda squad obtained this certainty after the match against Turkmenistan last night. Shin Tae-yong’s men managed to win with a score of 2-0 in the match which was held at the Manahan Stadium, Solo.
These additional three points made Garuda Nusantara collect a total of six points from two matches. So Indonesia won Group K and managed to qualify for Qatar next year.

Vietnam is the first

The Vietnam U-23 national team became the first team to qualify for the 2024 U-23 Asian Cup finals from the ASEAN zone.
Joined in group C, Vietnam secured their qualification at the end of last week. After they beat Yamen with a score of 0-1.
They are certain to lock in the status of group C winners so that they qualify first for the final round.

Singapore Failed to Qualify

The Singapore U-23 national team had to forget their dream of qualifying for the 2024 U-23 Asian Cup finals.
Both members of Group C with Vietnam, Singapore actually managed to hold Vietnam to a draw with a score of 2-2. But unfortunately this result was not enough to get them to runner up position.
This is because Yamen managed to win 5-1 over Guam so they collected six points, while Singapore only collected two points.

Perfect Thailand

The third ASEAN representative to qualify for the 2024 U-23 Asian Cup finals is the Thai national team.
Joined in group H, Thailand performed perfectly. IN the first two matches, they won 5-0 over the Philippines and won 0-3 against Bangladesh.
The Thai national team needed at least a draw against Malaysia in the final match of Group H. However, Yotsakorn Burapha’s single goal gave Thailand a 1-0 win over Malaysia and they qualified for the final round as winners of Group H.

Even though they lost to the Thai national team in the final group H match, Malaysia still has hopes of qualifying for the final round as runner up the best
There are four best runner up slots who will qualify for the final round in Qatar. Losing to Thailand made Malaysia runners up in Group H, and they have a good chance of becoming runner up the best
For information, the tiebreaker for determining the best first runner up is points, then goal difference, number of goals scored, discipline points and the draw. For groups with four teams, the results against the bottom team are not counted.
Coincidentally, the Malaysian national team and the Iranian national team both collected three points in the best runner up standings. The goal difference between the two countries is +3 goals, and both teams scored 4 goals in the group phase.
Luckily for Malaysia, the number of cards they got was not as many as Iraq. As a result, Malaysia was ranked fourth in the runner up standings
