In Group A, the two regional league teams, St. Johann and defending champion Wals Grünau, set the course as planned. Bergheim grabbed the third final round ticket, ultimately prevailing against Plainfelder with the same points thanks to the better goal difference. HSV came last and was able to dream of making it to the next round until the end. In the decider against Bergheim, the club from the 2nd Regional League North would have needed at least a draw, but had to narrowly admit defeat 1-2.

Very bitter for Hallwang: In the last game against Tamsweger, who had so far remained without points and were therefore eliminated, it was only enough for a 2-2 draw. With a win rate of 100%, Hallein also made it to the final round.
