Zhao Yan (pseudonym) from Ezhou City, Hubei Province told The Epoch Times reporter on December 29 that her 3-year-old second daughter had a high fever and died of illness within two days.
She said that on April 4, 2023, her second daughter was still alive and kicking when she came back from kindergarten, but she started to have a fever the next day. In the afternoon, she took her child to the Ezhou Central Hospital near her home for treatment. But the doctor did not take the temperature, but did a blood test, which showed infection. The hospital did not do anything and asked her to take the child back.
After returning home, the child’s condition did not improve, with a high fever of over 39 degrees and symptoms of coma. At around 9 pm on the 6th, she took her child to the Central Hospital for three influenza tests, and the results were negative. She asked to be hospitalized, but the hospital transferred her to a provincial hospital because there were no beds.
