Presidential candidate (capres) number 3, Ganjar Pranowo, and presidential candidate number 2, Prabowo Subianto, were involved in a debate over programs about free internet with free lunch. Ganjar highlighted Prabowo Subianto’s statement, which assessed that those who choose free internet over free food have slow brains.
Responding to this, Ganjar considered Prabowo’s statement to be very sadistic.
This was conveyed by Prabowo and Ganjar in the 2024 presidential election debate on Sunday (4/2/2024). Ganjar and Prabowo compared the free internet program to a free lunch.
Reward initially questioned the history of Prabowo’s statement saying that internet was free for slow brains. This statement, said Ganjar, is not in accordance with the digital ideas that Prabowo’s vice presidential candidate, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, has often promoted on many occasions.
“I have a free internet program for schools for MSMEs. But in Pontianak on January 20, you said that people who want free internet, sorry, sir, have slow brains. Your vice presidential candidate talked about IoT, digital downstreaming and many programs that have a digital theme,” said Ganjar in the debate presidential candidate at JCC Senayan, Central Jakarta, Sunday (4/2/2024).
Ganjar then asked Prabowo regarding the fact that there is a digital divide in Indonesia according to BPS data. He then asked Prabowo to explain how to resolve this problem.
“BPS said that the condition of digital inequality is very high in our area. Do you agree, sir, to improve this digital inequality and how?” Ganjar asked.
Prabowo’s response
Prabowo then answered Ganjar’s accusation about his slow brain. He considered that Ganjar did not accept it completely. Prabowo explained that free internet is good, but people need free lunch more.
“Maybe you didn’t hear what I said in full. What I said was which is more important, free internet or free food for people in need, for the poor, for lower class people,” said Prabowo.
Prabowo admitted that he did not question Ganjar’s idea regarding free internet. However, he considered that the free lunch program he initiated was more important to prioritize.
“If free internet I agree, (but) don’t free internet be more important than free food. Food is absolutely for our people. They have to eat, children have to eat, poor people have to eat. If free internet is good for digital inequality and so on, ” concluded Prabowo.
Ganjar Says Sadist
Presidential candidate number 3, Ganjar Pranowo, brought up the statement of presidential candidate number 2, Prabowo Subianto, who assessed that those who choose free internet over free food have slow brains. Ganjar considered this statement to be very sadistic.
“This is the great thing if the internet is good, sir, the digital footprint will never be lost, Mr. Prabowo, so the statement you are trying to clarify today, it seems to the public that it has passed, sir, because your question is very clear and compares that, so if we talk about people who “choose free internet, the brain, sorry, is slow, I think that statement is very sadistic,” said Ganjar during the fifth debate for the 2024 presidential election, at the JCC, Jakarta, Sunday (4/2/2024).
